Soft Planting For Terrace Beds

The client was delighted with their recently built terrace and the beds incorporated into the design. The plant design brief was to create a planting scheme that would provide soft planting to provide the atmosphere of a Mediterranean garden using existing olive trees planted in Terracotta pots. The planting was repeated in the beds to create continuity and structural evergreen balls were used to create an element of formality. Within that structure the planting was designed to provide softness both in colour and texture. Interest is provided through the contrasting flower shapes, foliage texture and colour, fragrance. Many of the plants were also chosen to attract butterflies and pollinating insects to provide wildlife and movement.
