Kettering Town Garden

About This Project

The garden design was aimed to incorporate attractive, existing apple and cherry trees and to allow the clients to have maximum amount of planting to encourage and support butterflies and bees through the year. Some elements of the garden layout were to remain, including the patio.

The new garden layout provided circular walks to provide a sense of immersion amongst the planting. Resiting of the log store and access from the existing patio to the garden also enhanced the flow around the garden.

To take full advantage of the low light levels at the rear of the garden shade loving plants and spring bulbs were planted under the apple tree. This planting really gives a contrast to the brighter sun loving plants in the south facing border and an opportunity for plant diversity.

The client was totally inspired by the planting and with monthly gardening coaching is very much enjoying learning how to care for the plants.
